Falgu Sansad and MAGADH MAHOTSAVA 2011

"Water is the driving force of all nature." This quote by Leonardo da Vinci tells that water is not only important for human ecosystem but for all existing ecosystems. Water, obviously, is crucial to our survival. Water is required for agricultural, industrial, household, recreational and environmental purposes. Virtually all of these human uses require fresh water. Rivers from the ancient time to present are an important source of freshwater. In ancient times civilizations like Mesopotamia, Egypt, Indus Valley  began popping up in river valleys. These river valleys provided people with fertile soil due to their floods which aided in growing crops, these areas were also surrounded by mountains and deserts, which helps for protection, and also there was an abundance of natural resources.

Today also a large number of people depend upon river as a source of water for their survival. But due to excessive use of water by human in industry, agriculture and for household purposes leading the rivers to dry all around the globe. If proper steps are not taken right now, then it will be too late to bring the situation in control.

A common people even if he is aware of the situation thinks that it is the problem of regarding authorities to solve the issue. But the authorities are also not able to sove the problem unless cooperated by common people. So a united effort of goverment and common public is required to save the Mother Nature.

Such an effort is taken in the Magadh by " Friends of Gaya Foundation" and "Sunhare Kal Ki ore" to save the sacred river FALGU.  More details can be found in the invitation letter.

INVITATION LETTER:

Dear Sir,
Please receive the best wishes for the day!!

As we all know, how important a river can be in one's life: specially when we talk about Falgu "The Moksha Dayini River" and the most important river of Magadh region which now it has gone dry. Pilgrims round the globe come to offer Pindas on the bank of river Falgu so that holy soul of their ancestors gets salvation. At the same time Falgu is life line for those millions of  people situated on it's bank.

As Falgu is the life line to both rural and urban area so its waterless existence has made the life of all people a disaster. Its shocking to inform you that water level has gone down by 500 ft. but both Government and common man is not concerned about this serious problem. This holy river is getting more dry and dirty with time. Falgu needs water and attention, a long discussion and planning has been done over it, which ultimately requires execution.

"Friends of Gaya Foundation" in association with "Sunhare Kal Ki Ore" is organizing - "Falgu Mukti Dayini Pad Yatra 2011", which is a 17 day long Pad Yatra starting from Simmariya, Chatra(Jharkhand) the origin of this river Falgu - Lilanjan, earlier known as SUMAGDHA from 1st August 2011 and ending at Patna on 18th August 2011.

The purpose of this yatra is to aware people for saving Falgu (from all kind of misuse), water and the Mother Nature.

In view of this we look forward to your blessings, co-operation, suggestion and participation so that falgu once again becomes the real lifeline of Magadh.

    Chandramauli
